A jet transporting at least $16 million in cocaine crashed in northern Guatemala, killing the co-pilot. Military spokesman Rubén Telléz said the aircraft was spotted on the Armed Forces flight radar system after it illegally entered the Central American nation’s airspace Saturday at 4.45am local time. The plane was tracked to Sierra del Lacandón National Park in the department of Petén where it crashed shortly after 7am.
