Boris Johnson will meet EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Wednesday evening in a bid to unblock talks on a post-Brexit trade deal. The PM will travel to Brussels for the meeting, in an attempt to strike an agreement before the UK stops following EU trading rules on 31 December. It comes after intensive talks between EU and UK officials ended in deadlock. The meeting over dinner will come just one day before EU leaders meet for a separate summit on Thursday.
